I M P R I N T S : origins of adventure

January 15, 2026 in Behind the Scenes, Black and White, Documentary, Exhibition, Fine Art, Travel

I’ve always had an active mind and imagination. As a kid, I would spend hours alone in the woods behind my house, just getting lost. By the time I had a portable CD player to my name ( miss those ), my adventures had an orchestra. Some early favorites were the Titanic soundtrack, shout out James Horner and later the soundtracks to Moulin Rouge, Cold Mountain, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings. This is all to say my love of exploring, and creating a “vibe” is an innate one - dating waaayyyyyyy back to the 90s and early 2000s.

These days, I still crave an adventure and have been lucky enough to find myself on many. Last year, I went on a whirlwind trip to Mexico - a wild ride for many reasons, not least of all falling into a bit of an open grate in the capital. I was photographing a friend’s wedding at Casa Wabi by the coast and then I went on to spend a few days exploring Mexico City.

I’d been to Mexico before, but never to these locations and the experience left me with many, many photos.

Over the course of about a year, I curated the wedding portfolio, along with personal images from the adventure and felt a desire to share them in a way that wasn’t a swipe and move on.

The images remain as a document, as IMPRINTS of an adventure, a proper once in a lifetime experience and I’m excited to share next month exclusively at dssgoddard.com.

In the meantime, stay tuned and subscribe to the newsletter for updates :)
